Monsterverse Continues In Skull Island Anime Series

Remember that rumor a week ago that was about the Monsterverse continuing as TV series on HBO Max? Well, I can still say that it's not going to HBO Max, but a TV series is in the works for Netflix continuing the Monsterverse series.

First reported by The Hollywood Report, this new series called, Skull Island, will concentrate on a group of shipwrecked characters that are trying to escape a dangerous and "mysterious island". So it is no doubt that we will see all different kinds of monsters we have seen in the movie, Kong: Skull Island, but I have a feeling that it will be about how the natives on the island, the Iwi tribe, got to Skull Island. If you read the graphic novel, Skull Island: The Birth of Kong, you actually find out that the Iwi tribe were people that were shipwrecked and are not actually true natives of the island. However, they lived on the island for so long that they built their own society and figured out a way to live on the island without getting eaten. So I think that is what the anime series will be.

The studio doing the animation will be Powerhouse Animation, the same studio that worked on the Castlevania anime series for Netflix. I have not watched Castlevania and I am not a fan of the video games that the show is based on, but I heard a lot of good things about the show and I think it's time to start watching it just so I know what to expect from this studio.

Let me know what you think of this announcement in the comments section. Have you watched Castlevania and if so, do you think the studio behind the show can do justice for Skull Island?
