Jurassic World 4 Title, First Look, And Plot Synopsis Officially Revealed

Ever since this project was revealed to be in development, Universal has been scrambling to get the fourth Jurassic World movie into production and have it ready for release by July 2, 2025. Godzilla (2014) director Gareth Edwards is the one directing the movie with Scarlett Johansson as the lead actress and main character of the movie. There were some behind the scenes photos that were leaked out, but there was only speculation as to what the movie might be about. Now, we have official confirmation on the movie's title: Jurassic World: Rebirth.

You can see in the logo how it looks like the sun is rising as if this is the beginning of a new era has begun for the franchise. However, the plot synopsis does not sound like much of a rebirth at all. It rather sounds more like another extinction event for the dinosaurs.

Movie's logo and title revealed by Universal Pictures

The plot synopsis reads, "Five years after the events of Jurassic World: Dominion, the planet's ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs. Those remaining exist in isolated equatorial environments with climates resembling the one in which they once thrived. The three most colossal creatures within that tropical biosphere hold the key to a drug that will bring miraculous life-saving benefits to humankind.

Academy Award® winner Johannson plays skilled covert operations expert Zora Bennett, contracted to lead a skilled team on a TOP–SECRET mission to secure genetic material from the world's three most massive dinosaurs. When Zora's operation intersects with a civilian family whose boating expedition was capsized by marauding aquatic dinos, they all find themselves stranded on an island where they come face-to-face with a sinister, shocking discovery that's been hidden from the world for decades."

So all of that co-existence between the dinosaurs and the modern world in the previous movie became more of a problem for the dinosaurs. They are having a hard time adapting to the modern world and are dying off while the remaining dinosaurs have secluded themselves in environments that are most natural to where they lived 65 million years ago. This time, we are going to an island again rather than bouncing around from one place to another.

In the first official photo, we see Mahershala Ali as Duncan Kincaid, who is described as Zora's most trusted team leader, screaming at the sight of something big. While the picture is dark, you can see what appears to be a dock with a warning label on it. While it is blurry to see, it does show what looks like InGEN's logo meaning this scene is taking place on one of the five islands known as the "Five Deaths." It could be taking place on Isla Sorna since Isla Nublar was destroyed in Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, but it may also be one of the other islands never explored in the franchise. Back when Jurassic Park 3 was in early development, the movie was originally supposed to take place on the third island called Isla Muerte or Site C. So this may be taking an opportunity to introduce one of the other islands that has never been explored yet.

In the next photo, we see Scarlett Johansson as Zora Bennett and Jonathan Bailey as Dr. Henry Loomis. Bailey's character is described to be a paleontologist. The guess here is that he would be sort of like the Dr. Grant of the film that will be on the look out for and identify the three dinosaurs the team are trying to find. So far, it looks like they are hiding in the tall grass observing something. Perhaps they came across a pack of raptors, but they look more in awe at what they see rather than frightened or scared. So it could be they are observing the more gentler dinosaurs that they first encounter on the island that they oh and awe over before there is running and screaming.

There are other cast members listed that we do not see in these photos. Rupert Friend is casted as Martin Krebs who is the Big Pharma representative and Manuel Garcia-Rulfo as Reuben Delgado who is the father of the family who are stuck on the island that Zora comes into contact with. Other cast members include Luna Blaise, David Iacono and Audrina Miranda (I assume they will be playing the kids of Reuben based on their photos on the IMDB page), and Bechir Sylvain.

You may have noticed Chris Pratt nor Bryce Dallas Howard are not mentioned once this cast listing. This is because they will not be returning to the franchise. Jurassic World: Rebirth is supposed to begin an all new story with a brand new set of characters. They might get referenced to tie this movie in with the previous trilogy, but Pratt and Howard will not be in the movie.

I am most curious about is what kind of dinosaur that is supposed to be the antagonist of the movie that is described to be sinister and shocking. My first guess could be a hybrid similar to the Indominous Rex or the Indoraptor, but after Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom audiences were kind of done with hybrid dinosaurs. This is why Dominion had the Giganotosaurus as the main villain rather than hybrid monster number three. Since this is Big Pharma that is sending out this expedition for genetic materials from these dinosaurs my other guess on the shocking discovery could be that Big Pharma could be using the dinosaurs to make a bioweapon like a new disease or making dinosaur/human mutations to create super soldiers (that was the original idea for Jurassic Park 4 before Jurassic World came to be). Whatever it could be, it is definitely not for the benefit of humankind like Big Pharma would like people to suggest.
