The next Monsterverse movie is now underway as more cast members are being added to the slate. It was originally heard that filming was suppose to start in July, but that was debunked by Hollwood Reporter. Now, filming will begin in Australia starting in April.
Furthermore, we are also getting slivers of information on this new movie from their roles.
When I first updated on Kaitlyn Dever being casted there was no information on what her role was at the time of her reveal. Now, we have a tiny bit more insight. She will be playing a lead character that works for Monarch. This information came out when Delroy Lindo was revealed to play her boss at Monarch.
Dan Stevens was confirmed by director Grant Sputore he will return as Trapper. In Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, Trapper was like a vet for the monsters. He helped Kong with his tooth problem and gave Kong the power glove as a way to mitigate the frost bite after fighting Shimo. What his role will be in the new movie is still unknown.

Dan Stevens reposted Sputore's confirmation on his Instagram commenting the director and Legendary are putting together an AWESOME team tagging the entire cast. However, it is the last line that has fans in an uproar. In the last line of his comment it reads, "WATCH. THIS. SPACE…" and ending with a dinosaur (🦖), globe (🌎), and gorilla (🦍) emojis. Fans are speculating that he is hinting at possibly aliens and/or space monsters. While most likely Dan Stevens is asking people to follow his page the globe emoji and "SPACE" is getting fans wondering if this could be a hint to what we should expect in this next movie.
Following up is Jack O'Connell, which he will be playing the brother of Kaitlyn Dever's character. He is most known for movies such as Unbroken, '71, Starred Up, and Eden Lake.
Delroy Lindo was revealed right after to play as Kaitlyn Dever's boss at Monarch. I recognize him most from Congo as the captain or general that yells at Tim Curry to stop eating his sesame cake. However, he is more known for movies such as Get Shorty, The Core, Da 5 Bloods, and Malcolm X and TV shows including Unprisoned, The Good Fight, and This Is Us.
The last actor (so far) to be revealed is Matthew Modine which is reported to be playing a general. Modine is most known for movies such as Full Metal Jacket, Cutthroat Island, The Dark Knight Rises, and Short Cuts, but he is best known for his role in the Netflix series Stranger Things.
As we get closer to April, we should start hearing about "leaks." There is already one so called leak that has been making the rounds and has been reported by more prominent Godzilla YouTubers. This time, I am going to wait until we get more official information. Of course, photos should also be expected throughout the duration of the movie's production. I want to say by March of next year we might see the title revealed for this movie just like how Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire was revealed a year before the movie's release.

What is interesting is a trademark was applied by Legendary titled "MONSTER KINGDOM," which the use is meant for "motion pictures featuring comedy, drama, action, romance, fantasy, fiction, science fiction, humor, adventure, action, animation, and combinations thereof." "Monster Kingdom" may be just a working title, but if this is the real title for the movie then what could it say about the movie's story or if it is even about the movie at all? For all we know, it could be a working title for one of the two other spin-off Monsterverse shows being worked on for Apple TV+ that was reported last year. There is a second filing for the trademark that lists reasons for "Entertainment services in the nature of development, creation, production, distribution, and post-production of television programs; Production of television programs; Multimedia entertainment services in the nature of development, production and post-production services in the fields of video and television programs; Providing a series of non-downloadable films; Providing a series of non-downloadable television programs." So whatever "Monster Kingdom" is it may most likely be one of these new spin-off shows.
Overall, I think we are going to see more cast members revealed and they will be actors that either nobody has ever heard of or has seen in one movie or show. I have seen a lot of people wishing to see Millie Bobby Brown or Kyle Chandler return for another movie. Honestly, I also wish to see some consistency in terms of casting actors. After one or two movies, they just disappear as if they never existed. What I also want to see is where this series is building up to. Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire was really pointless. It got Kong to find the rest of his kind, but there was nothing that showed something bigger is planned for the future films. What I want to see from this next film is a big EndGame event to build up. I would like to interview Kaitlyn Dever, if possible. I know she is busy getting ready for the production of "Godzilla x Kong 3," so it may be some time before I even hear anything. Fingers crossed.
